Biography

João Gabriel Rodrigues is a music composer specialized in high production value Film and Game music.

Graduated from Film School at the University of São Paulo, J. Gabriel has thoroughly studied the connections between sound and audiovisual narratives.

Later he started working as a film and game composer, writing the music for several projects in Canada, USA, Brazil and Slovenia.

Currently J. Gabriel is part of Gothic Storm, one of the main AAA trailer music labels in the world, and has his music featured in trailers from Spider Man – Far From HomeThe Lion King and Mortal Engines, Frozen 2as well as HBO’s WatchmenThe Plot Against America and True Detectiveand some of his original sound design features in the The Irishman and The Grudge trailers.

Among his most interesting independent projects are the soundtracks for AKASHI -あかし- (JAP/CAN), film that won the Telus Storyhive Female Director Contest of 2016 and was finalist of NBCUniversal Short Film Fest in Los Angeles, as well as Multiverse Dating for Beginners (CAN), and the game Tinker Island (SLO).

João also integrates different sample library developer’s teams of composers and beta testers, such as Soundiron, SonokineticRed Room Audio, and Gothic Instruments.
